Holiday Helper Drive Information

Holiday Helper Drive Information

The Holiday Helper Program is run by the school PTA organizations and aims to ensure all children in need receive a gift this holiday season. The drive begins today and will run through November 21.

This year, the Holiday Helper program will look a little different at some schools. To ensure an equitable experience for those who qualify across all of our schools, we will be shifting from providing physical gifts to offering Walmart gift cards. This change allows families in need more flexibility and choice in selecting items that best fit their child(ren)’s needs and interests, while also ensuring that each child receives the same level of support across all of our schools.

A $50 donation helps to ensure a child will receive gifts this holiday season.

We are collecting donations of Walmart gift cards in $25 and $50 increments. There are two ways you can donate:

  1. Physical gift cards can be dropped off at your school or the District Office located at 1401 Greenwood Road, Glenview. Please indicate the amount on the card you drop off and your name (optional).
  2. You can purchase a physical gift card online, and it will be shipped to the District Office. When purchasing online, please opt to add a gift receipt if you can. Please note, we are not collecting digital gift cards, only physical gift cards.

One other way you can support our families this holiday season is with a homemade holiday card! You can turn in homemade holiday cards anytime before November 21 to your school or the District Office. We ask that you keep the holiday messages generic, as we have families who celebrate many different holidays in our district.

Thank you for your support in making the holiday season special for our students in District 34!

This initiative is made possible by the collaborative efforts of the District 34 PTAs and District 34.
