Audio Books

• Follow the book as the audio book plays. This helps with word recognition and awareness of phrasing.
• Read a page and then listen to it to check for understanding.
• Listen to a chapter or page and then read it to understand the main ideas.

Create Their Own Books on Tape

• Have your child read into a tape recorder. During playback, help him or her follow along in the book.

Family Read Night

• Set aside thirty minutes each evening for family read time. At the end of the week, the person with the most minutes wins their choice of a treat or family activity.
