Our Heifer Project, by Amanda

We raised $500 to change someone’s life!  Heifer International is a charity that gives animals to people that need them.  They train them to take care of the animals.  I raised money by cleaning up my room and taking care of pets.  I wanted our class to raise more than Miss K’s class did last year, and they did.  We raised $500 in our class!  We bought 1 water buffalo, 1 goat, 1 trio of rabbits, 2 flocks of chicks, and honeybees.  In conclusion, Heifer gives animals to people that need the animals.

Our class did something that changed someone’s life.  Heifer International is a charity that gives animals to people who cannot afford to go to school.  When Heifer gives someone an animal, they show them how to take care of it.  To raise money, me and my brother walked people’s dogs for them.  We raised $500 as a class.  We bought one water buffalo, one goat, two flocks of chicks, a trio of rabbits, and a hive of bees.  In conclusion, I learned people are very different!  In conclusion, I learned how poor people are.

Heifer, by Sam

We raised $500.00 for 5 different animals.  Heifer International is where you send money for an animal.  I raised my money by washing the dishes 4 times: 3 in the morning, and 1 time after dinner.  We bought a water buffalo.  It is $250.00.  A goat is $120.00, a trio of rabbits is $60.00, two flocks of chicks are $20.00 each, and a hive of bees is $30.00.  In conclusion, I felt overjoyed when we got $500.00 because we doubled the amount Miss K’s class earned last year!  It is going to be a good cause!

This year we did something really cool to help poor people.  It is called Heifer.  Heifer is a charity that doesn’t just say, “Here, have some money!”  It gives them an animal and training lessons.  The animals are used for wool, income, or killed to eat.  I personally raised money by asking my mom for $20.  She said I could but I had to work it off by doing chores.  Our class bought 1 water buffalo, 1 goat, 1 trio of rabbits, 2 flocks of chicks, and 1 hive of bees.  I learned that Heifer can save someone’s life.  As you know, in conclusion, Heifer is great!

Sophie

Have you ever raised $500?  Well, my class has.  It’s called Heifer International.  It’s where you raise money for Heifer.  You send in the money and you can buy an animal with your money.  It doesn’t matter how much money you send in because you can buy a flock of chicks for 20 dollars.  Isn’t that cool?  I can help save somebody’s life.  How I raised $58.89:

  • I vacuumed
  • Cleaned my room
  • Fed the dogs
  • Helped my sister with her homework by not bugging her.

Half of the money was from my savings in my wallet.  We bought with $500:

  • 1 water buffalo
  • 1 goat
  • 1 trio of bunnies
  • 2 flocks of chicks
  • Honeybees

In conclusion, I was surprised that we earned $500!

Heifer is about passing on the gift.  Passing on the gift helps not just one needy family, it helps a lot.  Heifer International is about families raising money to buy animals for needy families around the world and that’s what Miss K and our class did!  I raised money by doing the dishes, doing laundry, making my bed, cleaning the bathroom, setting the table, and getting food ready for dinner.  I raised $34.60.  We raised $500 in our class!  We bought 1 water buffalo, 1 goat, 1 trio of bunnies, 2 flocks of chicks, and honeybees.  In conclusion, I feel great about Heifer!

My class earned $500 to buy 5 animals for really poor people.  Heifer International is a charity that gives farm animals to needy people.  They train people how to raise the animals.  They can eat the animals, drink the milk, or sell them at the market.  They can use the money to go to school, clothes, food, and medicine.  I raised money by washing dishes.  I really didn’t want to do the dishes, but then I thought of poor people so I did the dishes.  My class raised $500!  My class bought: 1 water buffalo, 1 goat, 1 trio of bunnies, 2 flocks of chicks, and honeybees.  I learned that a water buffalo can make up to 2 gallons of milk a day!  In conclusion, I felt really good for making money and buying animals for poor people.

Annika

We raised $500 for 5 animals.  Heifer International is a charity that gives farm animals to very, very poor people.  Jack raised $40.00 by having a coffee and doughnut stand at the train station.  I think that is cool because I’d like to do that too someday.  We raised $500 in our class.  We bought 1 water buffalo, 1 goat, 1 trio of bunnies, 2 flocks of chicks, and 1 hive of honeybees.  I was surprised that we raised $500!  In conclusion, Heifer is a neat charity.

Ava

We passed on the gift and I’m going to tell you about it.  Heifer International is a charity that gives animals to needy people.  A rabbit gives wool to make soft blankets.  I raised money by making my bed, washing the dishes, and making everyone’s bed.  We raised $500 in our class!  We bought:

  • 1 water buffalo
  • 1 goat
  • 1 trio of bunnies
  • 2 flocks of chicks
  • Honeybees

I feel so proud to raise $500 for so many people!  I was surprised that you can actually train these pets like chicks, water buffalo, bunnies, goats, and you can’t really train honeybees, but that’s it.  I learned that bunnies can be shaved to make blankets and still be alive.  I made a water buffalo and I wanted to make bunnies and honeybees.  Did you ever donate an animal?  We have!  We can order pets that can go to different states and different animals like a llama and water buffalo.  That’s how we can do it anywhere.

This year we raised $500 for needy people.  Heifer International is something that helps needy people.  It gives them farm animals for food or they can sell them.  Some things I did were I shoveled, I cleaned the garbage, and I cleaned the basement.  Our whole class in all raised $500.  In class we bought one big water buffalo and one goat, one trio of rabbits, two flocks of chicks, and one big beehive.  Those were the animals we bought and we used all of our $500 we raised for Heifer International.  In conclusion, Heifer is great.  I learned a flock of chicks is 20 chicks.

Jack

We raised $500 this year!  I bet you’re wondering what for?  Heifer International!  Heifer is a charity that doesn’t just give you money or animals, but it teaches you how and gives it to you.  People use the money they make for food, school, medicine, clothes, and food.  I raised $62 but $20 was change and my dad wanted $2 for Starbucks.  I raised money by making a coffee and doughnut stand.  We bought 1 water buffalo, 1 goat, 1 trio of rabbits, 1 hive of honeybees, and 2 flocks of chicks.  In conclusion, it was fun raising money.

Has your class ever raised $500?  Well, mine has.  Heifer International is a charity that gives animals to needy people.  They get trained in how to raise the animals.  And they can sell the food they make or eat the food.  I raised money by selling coffee, doughnuts, and water, and did chores for 4 weeks.  We raised $500 in our class!  We bought 1 water buffalo, 1 goat, 1 trio of rabbits, 2 flocks of chicks, and 1 hive of bees.  I’m surprised that my class raised $500.  In conclusion, I hope they like the animals.  P.S.  Maybe your class can raised more than $500.  Prove it if you dare!

Our Heifer Project, by Katie

Heifer International helps tons of people!  $20.00 can change someone’s life!  Here’s how:  Heifer International is a charity that gives poor families animals, not just money.  They can see the things the animals make so they can pay for medicine, school, clothes, and food.  They can also eat the animal.  Once the animal has a baby, you give it to a neighbor.  It’s called passing on the gift.  I raised money by raking leaves ($7), I put dishes in the dishwasher ($2), I cleaned the dining room table ($1), and I shoveled the snow three times ($5).  Altogether, I raised $16.00!  Miss K’s class raised $500!  We bought 1 water buffalo, 1 goat, 1 trio of bunnies, 2 flocks of chicks, and 1 hive of honeybees.  In conclusion, I learned Heifer is one-of-a-kind charity!
