Computer Learning Environments for the Primary Learner

    • To start with new or young learners, choose one or two of the easiest, basic programs or websites so that children may become familiar with the operation of the computer.
    • Do not lead students step by step at first. Let them explore with supervision.
    • Demonstrate, Model, and Guide basic features of programs and websites first.
    • Explore different software and websites with students. Monitor student choices and encourage new opportunities.
    • Encourage parent helpers who are tech savvy to assist your students in the classroom. Train parents who show interest in technology in your classroom.
    • Technology should not be "required" Make it a choice in the classroom used to reinforce and supplement skills taught in the classroom.
