Computer Learning Environments for the Primary Learner

To start with new or young learners, choose one or two of the easiest, basic programs or websites so that children may become familiar with the operation of the computer. Do not lead students step by step at first. Let them explore with supervision. Demonstrate, Model, and Guide basic features of programs and websites first. Explore different software and websites with students. Monitor student choices and encourage new opportunities. Encourage parent helpers who are tech savvy to assist your students in the classroom. Train parents who show interest in technology in your classroom. Technology should not be "required" Make it a choice in the classroom used to reinforce and supplement skills taught in the classroom.
